a jem on Jay St.
Yesterday, I met my mother for a lunch date at Ambition Cafe on Jay St. in downtown Schenectady. She had an awesome deal from Groupon for $10 off, but I never need an excuse to go to Ambition Cafe! The ambiance is fantastic — adorable booths, eclectic decor, friendly servers — and the food is just delicious. We poured over the menu for quite some time, but I ultimately went with a cup of their creamy tomato soup (the special for the day) and half of a build-your-own sandwich (wheat bread, turkey, cheddar cheese, horseradish dijon mustard, lettuce, tomato, cucumber — YUM). It was wonderful catching up with my mommy (who I don’t see as often as I had thought I would, considering I’m now 10 minutes from home), and of course our server convinced us to indulge in a huge chocolate-raspberry cupcake for dessert. Even though my stomach is still full, I cannot wait to go back!
