I sometimes pride myself as being an excellent multi-tasker; I always have a million things going on a million to-do lists and at the end of the day I get stuff done. But then other times I worry I might be the world’s worst multi-tasker: when I’m doing something, I can only be doing that with absolutely no other distractions; I can’t listen to music when I do homework, I almost always have Facebook chat turned off, and I feel overwhelmed if I get too many text messages while I’m doing something else. So am I actually an extremely inefficient worker? Which is better: doing one thing with 100% focus or ten with 10% focus?
I am a senior in college who will be off in the wonderful world of finance come July. While my resume passions include scrupulously watching economic indicators and reading the Wall Street Journal, I could just as happily spend all day reading blogs and sharing my passion for food, fashion, and fun. I chew too much gum and probably write too many lists. I know I don't know everything just yet, but TheGarnetLetter is the beginning of my little thank you note to the wonderful world!
