I find AllianceBernstein’s perspective quite agreeable, don’t you?
Now, working in the city is still working; schedules are still packed, days are still long, wages are still never enough, coworkers are still tiring, assignments are still never-ending, but there is one thing that the city holds above all other places of employment: the city. When I start losing myself behind just another location-less computer screen, I always take a moment to look up and enjoy the spectacular fruitfulness of the Big Apple.
Today we’re all winners; the 2012 Summer Olympic Games begin this afternoon in lovely London, England. While I may or may not be out of work in time to catch the opening ceremony, there are a few sports that are definitely on my must-see list, specifically badminton, equestrian, and of course men’s swimming. I may never participate in the Olympics myself, but I could make watching them a sport!!
this pretty kitty was meant for the city!
I absolutely adore having my little sister here with me in the city; her attitude is as cool as a cucumber despite New York’s recent record-breaking temps and coming home to find her all gussied up on the couch ready for an evening of out-and-about fun in the city that never sleeps is the best gift any young intern could ask for! Today we hope to hit MoMA and tomorrow we plan to take on China Town. I’m just not gonna let this girlie leave!!

that’s blake lively in the royal blue! she’s unbelievably beautiful in person!
Seeing that my parents are in Europe celebrating their 25h wedding anniversary (Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!!), my little sister is spending the week with my twin and me in the city. Today we explored the Upper East Side and did some shopping along the magnificent Madison Avenue. And while we greatly enjoyed casually bopping into Barney’s and happening upon Hermes, the highlight of the afternoon was definitely stumbling across the set of Gossip Girl and seeing Blake Lively and Chase Crawford filming the show’s next season. I guess you’ll just have to add another tally to the endless reasons I adore this city!!
hey hey hermes
maddy made a sweet purchase at juicy couture
although we resisted for the time being, i’ve heard people swoon for these macaroons!
of course we squeezed in some lilly lovin’
This weekend my sister and I ventured back upstate for some Adirondack adventure with the fam. We spent Saturday swimming, sunning, and snoozing at the lovely Loon Lake. It was the perfect way to recharge before diving back into the awesome madness that is our summer in the city. All it ever takes is a trip back home to remind me what really matters in my life!
me and the lil sis — precious!!
I love to sing this song to Julia when we’re taking the subway home… 😛
i smile just thinking about my neighborhood!
Simply said, I am loving the city! The summer is soaring by in a wonderful whirl of work, shopping, exploration, and twinspiration. I adore living on the Upper West Side, my coworkers are a blast, and being in the greatest city in the world with my most favorite person in the world is making for the best summer in the world. Someone pinch me!
