I am a senior in college who will be off in the wonderful world of finance come July. While my resume passions include scrupulously watching economic indicators and reading the Wall Street Journal, I could just as happily spend all day reading blogs and sharing my passion for food, fashion, and fun. I chew too much gum and probably write too many lists. I know I don't know everything just yet, but TheGarnetLetter is the beginning of my little thank you note to the wonderful world!

When I visited my sister at Caltech the other week, I got to take a gander at her balcony attached to her lovely dorm room. Can you even imagine going to a school where such a thing exists? (My answer: Um, no.) I took the opportunity in the sun to snap a few pics of my fun and colorful outfit. Certainly not the best look for anyone in the Northeast right now, but perhaps as a vacation ensemble??
Sometimes relaxation requires getting your nails done, sometimes is takes going to the spa for a massage, sometimes it requires family time, and sometimes it calls for a great yoga session. But, sometimes, all relaxation requires is a good picture for inspiration. This picture does just that; roses, coffee, magazines, sunglasses, and popcorn — do you need anything else?
Have a relaxing weekend!
Can you believe Christmas is already come and gone? I arrived back home from the west coast on Monday night at midnight so these past few days have been a whirlwind of last-minute present wrapping, lots of cooking and cleaning, and of course tons of wonderful family time! Today my family and I will be traveling to Burlington, Vermont for a little holiday escape. Hope everyone else is finding a nice way to unwind from the Christmas craziness!
As I arrived back home just yesterday from my crazy California adventure (see here, here and here) I unfortunately missed a lot of my family’s usual holiday preparations. However, we have plenty of traditions (see here) that I got back just in time for! I can’t wait to go to my cousins’ house for a delicious Christmas Eve meal, look for the North Star at night, wake up early to open presents, make a delicious breakfast of bagels and lox, comb through our stocking surprises, and spend the rest of the day catching up with relatives old and young. Merry Christmas Eve, followers!
