b-fast

b-fast

What are you up to this weekend, dear readers? I plan on doing a lot of skiing, a lot of studying, and (hopefully) make some room for R&R. I think the best way to truly relax and get a lot accomplished is to feel good physically and mentally. And you know what they say about breakfast being the most important meal of the day… I encourage all of you to try this absolutely delicious and super simple berry breakfast at least one morning this weekend. You won’t believe how good you and your belly will feel!

morning, noon, & night

mnnThis spring break I will be headed down to Florida to visit my grandma and meet up with my twin sister who also has her spring break at the same time! I am so looking forward to the warm weather (remember Monday’s post?) and already brainstorming awesome outfits for some fun in the sun. I think this bright and blue collection would be perfect for a day down south. A casual tank and shorts for errands in the morning, a cute dress for an afternoon snack, and a flow-y frock and a classic jean jacket for a breezy night walking in the sand. Anyone else have fun plans for their spring break this year?

with a cherry on top

Can it please just be spring already!? I am officially sick of this weather. I need to wear Jack Rogers and ripped jeans and light coats ASAP or else I think I might lose my mind. I’m not even asking for warm weather — just enough to get out of my uniform of snow boots, a fuzzy Patagonia, and my ginormous puffy jacket. I am starting to feel like a bum and it is seriously affecting my mood. As I singularly hold a sit-in in protest of this disgusting (and never-ending) weather I turn to trusty Pinterest as my salvation…

iphone wardrobe

It’s about time I got a new case for my iPhone. I have three cases for my iPhone: one that I’ve had since I first purchased my phone, one I used all summer through good memories and bad, and finally one I accidentally dropped into a pot of hot melting marshmallows while making rise krispie treats (not my finest moment). So how should I update my little guy’s wardrobe? Here’s what I’m thinking:

FORTUNES RESIN IPHONE 5 CASE

Kate Spade – Fortunes Resin iPhone 5 Case – $40

robinson SAFFIANO HARDSHELL CASE FOR IPHONE 5:5S

Tory Burch – Robinson Saffiano Hardshell Case for iPhone 5/5S – $60

iPhone 5 Cover

Lilly Pulitzer – iPhone 5 Cover – $32

Which is your favorite??

protein pancakes

protein pancakes

Who doesn’t love a good pancake? Such a sweet comfort food, but definitely not the epitome of a healthy breakfast. Luckily, the girls of Tone It Up have come to the rescue with amazing, delicious, and (best of all) super simple protein pancakes! I whipped up a batch for myself one morning last week after an early work out and before heading off to class. The recipe was so easy to follow and SO tasty! Treat yourself here:

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 10 minutes

Ingredient:

– 1/4 cup egg whites

– 1 scoop protein powder (I used chocolate flavor — talk about taking amazing to the next level!)

– 1/2 banana

– 1 tsp cinnamon

– 1/2 tbsp almond milk

Directions:

Mash banana in a small bowl. Stir in almond milk and mix in remaining ingredients. Coat small pan with cooking spray and set over medium heat. Pour batter into pan (about half works well) and cook until you see bubbles rising. Flip pancake and cook all the way through on the other side. Serve with fruit (or plain!) and enjoy!!

(Thank you to Karena and Katrina of Tone It Up for this delicious recipe!!)

boba

I’ve shared with you before about Boba tea here, but a few months ago when I was in Southern California I had SoCal bubble tea for the first time since March and it was heaven. Nowhere else can you find such a wide selection of flavors, so many fresh ingredients, so many ways to taylor your drink to the exact way you want it, or (best of all) the most amazing, soft, warm, perfect tapioca balls in the entire nation. Bubble tea in the Northeast is to bubble tea in L.A. as a cruddy pot of old coffee at a ho-hum car repair shop is to a hand made cappuccino with soy milk and brown sugar at a local cafe with live musicians — it’s just not even on the same level. I wish my sister could ship the stuff to me instantaneously on the East Coast… here’s to dreaming!
