birthday wish list

Next week I will be turning 22! I actually can’t believe it. But, as is only natural, it is of the utmost importance that  share a birthday wish  list with y’all. Here’s what I’m lusting after while I’m feeling twenty-two:

Warby Parker Glasses | Statement Necklaces | Tory Burch iPhone Case | Essie Nail Polish | Louis Vuitton Speedy Bag | A Puppy 🙂

A totally reasonable list for a twenty-something year-old, no?

tortoise and the hare

Ok, so I’m technically sharing with you how to make chocolate turtles, but I figured the title was fitting seeing as how fast and easy it is to make these scrumptious treats!

I learned the basic recipe from one of my girlfriends during our weekend away (see here) and then made a batch for the birthday of my dear friend Emanuel of the amzingamazingamazing blog Scratch (see here and here). The recipe is super easy and even more delicious. Go ahead, try your hand at these delicious chocolate turtles:

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 5 minutes

– 1 large bag of Rolos candies

– Pretzel snaps

– Almonds

Preheat oven to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. On a large cookie pan, lay flat a bed of pretzel snaps. Place one Rolo candy on top of each pretzel snap. Put the tray in the oven and remove once the candies are soft. Gently push an almond into each Rolo. Let cool and enjoy!

cuddly and cozy

Sometimes you just need a cuddly and cozy weekend in. Recently I have felt like I’m running around like a kitten with her tail cut off and I just need some hard core R&R. Save for a Russian Club event tonight and my grandmother’s birthday celebration tomorrow, I am going to do my best this weekend to just take it easy. Granted, I can never completely escape from doing school work on the weekends (unlike real life), but that doesn’t mean I can’t be productive while cuddling up with a super snuggly blanket! Does anyone else have no plans as their weekend plans?

weekend recap

I treated myself to a trip home this past weekend. We just made it through week 6 here at Union and I was definitely in need of some family (and couch!) time. Granted I did school work for the majority of my weekend, but I did make some time for fun. Starting in the upper left-hand corner and going clockwise here is what I did:

1. My new Sperrys finally arrived! It’s still a bit too cold to rock them in the 12308, but they were meant to get wet, right?

2. Explored the Shaker Bay housing complex that overlooks the Mohawk River. It’s a fantastic place to go day-dream-driving!

3. Worked at the laundro. Lots of dry-cleaning, always lots of dry-cleaning…

4. Went to the Cheesecake Factory with my family for my mother’s birthday! She and I got the same meal — like mother, like daughter! ❤

Did you do anything fun or special this weekend?
